Spring low-cut shoes in Vektor’s range – care advice and tips for intensive use

A safety shoe must meet two essential requirements: it must be both comfortable and safe! Comfortable, because you have to wear it all day long—work cannot stop just because the shoe is rubbing your foot.

At the same time, in many jobs the foot is exposed to serious risks, so comfort alone is not enough; maximum protection is also indispensable. You can rely on the safety footwear offered in Vektor’s range all year round, including spring, when low-cut shoes take the place of boots.

Our collection features models from the biggest brands, each optimized for different purposes. The HECKEL RUN-R 400 S3 SRC low-cut shoe is an ideal choice even in warmer months thanks to its extremely lightweight design. Belonging to protection category 2, it combines a full-grain leather upper with a PU2D sole. Safety and comfort are ensured by its metal-free toe cap, puncture-resistant midsole, and anatomically shaped insole. Energy-absorbing inserts at the front and heel of the sole support the foot’s natural movement.

The Cerva HALWILL MF ESD S1P SRC low-cut shoe provides protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD) and features a metal-free toe cap and puncture-resistant midsole. Its innovative microfiber upper ensures proper ventilation, while the dual-density PU/PU sole offers slip resistance. An energy-absorbing heel, oil- and petrol-resistant sole, and composite toe cap further enhance safety and comfort. A perfect solution from spring through autumn!

Of course, even the best safety shoe will only serve you well in the long run if you follow basic maintenance and cleaning rules. Safety boots require daily care: remove heavy dirt after each use and let them dry naturally in a well-ventilated place.

Leather models should be treated with leather protectors, conditioners, or softening creams before use. Non-leather shoes require special care products. Never dry any shoe directly on radiators or stoves. In our range, you’ll also find shoe care products such as Haix leather care cream or Cerva impregnation spray, which can make shoes, workwear, and gloves water-resistant using nanotechnology. The spray creates an ultra-thin, invisible, waterproof and oil-repellent layer, offering extra resistance against grease and oil.

Unlike casual footwear, safety shoes must perform reliably during work tasks. Due to higher wear, safety boots are typically recommended for about one year of use, after which they should be replaced for safety and health reasons. To prevent fungal infections or odor before that time, it’s wise to use antifungal and deodorizing sprays.
